Slipping out of time.

Dress - Topshop | T-shirt - Dorothy Perkins | Bag - Vintage

First of all, please pretend you haven't seen the clothes peeping out from my wardrobe. Clearly I didn't realise that they were there until I uploaded the photos to my laptop. I did try to edit them out of the photos but it looked even worse.

I wore this for a trip to the pub with the girls last night. I drank a grand total of 1 bottle of Bulmers, paid for in coppers because I'm that skint. Today I found 50p in a parking machine and I was absolutely buzzing.

I found out today that we get the keys for our flat on Sunday so my weekend will be spent packing. I'm so excited to move haha!

It starts in the theatre

Tshirt - Topshop | Leggings - Missguided | Clutch - Primark | Necklaces - Topshop and Primark

I wore this to go out for a meal for my cousins birthday on Saturday night. She wore a hoody so I ended up feeling a little overdressed sat next to her. I'd rather be overdressed than underdressed though!

I had a lovely weekend this weekend. I got my hair cut on Saturday morning, I had a side fringe cut back in. It doesn't look as good today though now that I've washed my hair and done it myself. I hate it when that happens.

On Saturday afternoon me and David went shopping for housey bits, we bought a TV which was an absolute bargain! It's a 43 inch Samsung one and was £300. Let's just hope it fits in our flat!

Yesterday was lovely so we decided to go to the seaside. We went to Redcar and had a walk up and down the beach. To be honest we could have chosen somewhere better, Redcar is being regenerated at the moment and it a complete and utter building site. I can't wait to see what its like when its finished though but I don't think it'll be any time soon.

Edit: I'm selling a few bits on eBay if anyones interested

Pink Friday

L-R Barry M Strawberry | Barry M Peach Melba | Collection 2000 Fruit Salad | George Groove | Avon Funky Fuchsia

A bit of a pink rainbow here - I had to toughen up such a girly manicure with some 'hardware' though. Girly just isn't my thing and I can never resist adding edgy jewellery to an outfit.

I haven't been up to much this week - just been buying a few homey bits, my bedroom has been taken over with all the stuff for my new flat!

Its always darkest before the dawn.

Shorts - DIY | Belt - Vintage | Tshirt - H&M | Necklace - New Look

I wore this to go to the pub for tea on Sunday night, except I wore tights - it is definitely not leg baring weather just yet!

A few exciting things going on in my life right now - I'm moving in with my boyfriend in a few weeks time! The flat is part furnished so we won't need to buy everything but I'm having so much fun picking out loads of homey bits. I can't wait to be all moved in and settled now. I know I'll always be skint though because I won't be able to resist buying loads of little bits for the flat!

Dipped in Glitter

Barry M Red Glitter

A quick nails of the day post - so glad I took photos of this when I did as about five minutes afterwards I had a bit of a fight with the hoover and ended up smudging them. A thick coat of glitter does not dry quickly!!

All I did here was apply a thin coat of glitter, starting about 1/4 of the way up my nail, then added more coats starting further and further up until the top of the nail was fully coated in glitter. The aim was for a sort of 'dipped in glitter' look.

Grey Topshop Dress Dupe.

Dress - Primark | Necklace - Topman

I've been lusting after the Topshop version of this dress for ages now but just couldn't justify spending £25 on what is, lets face it, basically a plain t-shirt. So you could imagine my joy when I found this one in Primark for just £8! The material is pretty thin but I don't reckon the Topshop version would be up to much either if their previous jersey pieces are anything to go by - they usually go bobbly after a few washes.

I've been off this week and have been all over. On Saturday it was really sunny so me and my boyfriend went to Whitby, on Monday it was lovely again so we had a quick trip to Sainsburys for some lunch and ate it in the park. On Tuesday I went to Leeds to see one of my friends and then onto Lincoln later that day to see another friend. Today I've been for a walk round Saltburn, it was pretty cold though - I couldn't feel my ears by the time we got back in the car.

I've been tagged in two 11 questions posts recently by Valentina of Leopard and Salmon and by Laura of Lolly Coral, I love reading these posts on other peoples blogs so I thought I'd give it a go. The first part is to write 11 random things about yourself.

1. I have two cats, Poppy and Alfie. Poppy is really grumpy and I'm actually a bit scared of her.
2. I used to have really blonde hair.
3. It took me nine goes to pass my driving test.
4. I like the green sweets best and always leave the black ones, no matter what type of sweets they are.
5. I'm a complete bookworm and used to read every night - until my iPhone took over my life. I really want to get back into it.
6. I have a first class degree in journalism and one year on still haven't done anything with it.
7. I've always wanted to know what I'd look like with bright red hair but my mum has always put me off dying it.
8. I have a ridiculously large nail varnish collection but hardly wear any of them because I'm not allowed to wear nail varnish for work.
9. I keep a teddy under my bed that my dad bought me when I was a day old. All the fur has been loved off.
10. I secretly don't mind watching 'boy' films but moan like mad when my boyfriend tries to make me watch one.
11. I used to be really into art and did an art subject right up until A Level. I wish I still had time for that kind of thing now.

The next step is to answer questions set for you in the original post:

Lauras Questions:

1. Can you pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time?

Yes, but with great difficulty.

2. How would you style this seasons pastel trend?

With something neutral like black, grey or white. I'm not a fan of pastel overload.

3. Name your top three hair products.

Tressemme Dry Shampoo. And thats it - I probably don't take as good care of my hair as I should.

4. Any allergies?

Not that I know of. Although I have really sensitive eyes and most eye make up removers make my eyes sting like a bitch!

5. When you were young, what did you want to grow up to be?

A teacher, probably because two of my grandparents were teachers.

6. What is your favourite fragrance?

Viktor and Rolf - Flowerbomb

7. If you were an animal what would you be and why.

A bird, just so I could fly.

8. High Street or Designer?

High Street.

9. What is your favourite trend this season.

Probably pastels, just as long as they aren't overdone. I like seeing all the bright colours after the dark of winter. But I do also like the 90s grungy look as well. Total opposites I know!

10. What are you most afraid of?

I have a really irrational fear of slugs. Probably something to do with my sister chasing me round the back garden with them when I was little.

11. What is your favourite season and why?

Summer - I love the sun.

Valentinas Questions:

1. Favourite food?

The Chicken Vindaloo that my boyfriend makes.

2. Most embarrassing thing you have experienced?

When I was about 14 I was walking through the Bus Station in town when I tripped, probably over my own feet, and ended up falling onto a child in a push chair. I've never gone to red.

3. Favourite movie and why?

Mean Girls! It's hilarious, I could probably quote the majority of it.

4. Celebrity style icon.

Probably someone really casual like Rachel Bilson.

5. Best way to spend free time?

With my friends or boyfriend, doesn't really matter what we're doing.

6. Guilty pleasure?

Watching Mean Girls.

7. What is the best prank you have pulled?

I can't say I've ever pulled one. I do remember the whole of my class planning to put a pin on the teachers chair in year 5 but we chickened out. It probably wouldn't have been that funny considering the trouble we'd have all been in. I also remember moving the tables around in a french lesson in secondary school when the teachers back was turned. She looked so confused every time she turned back around.

8. Favourite piece of clothing in your closet?

Probably my cross necklace. Does that count as clothing?

9. If you had a billion dollars what would you do with it?

Buy a lovely house somewhere hot. And never have to work again.

10. What is your favourite word?

11. What's something about yourself that you are most confident about?

I don't know. I suppose I don't really have that many insecurities which is quite nice as I remember being a 14 year old who worried about every single thing about myself. It's nice not to be like that now and just be happy with who I am.

The next step is to create 11 questions of your own and tag other bloggers to answer them. I'm not going to do that because I'm running rather late to meet my friends at the pub and I don't really feel like I know too many people from the blogging community just yet. If you do fancy having a go of this then just answer any 11 of the questions I've answered- whichever are the most interesting. If you do this I'd love to read it so leave me a link please!

Cream Dress

Dress - Urban Outfitters | Necklaces - H&M and Miss Selfridge | Shoes - Primark

How beautiful is the weather today - I feel like I need to do something outdoorsy. I just wish it was a few degrees warmer, then I could have ditched the black opaques. I've had a quick trip into town today to buy my mum a birthday present and a mothers day present - they're so close together, a few years ago they were on the same day! I was really really good and only spent £8 on myself, all I bought was the Primark version of this Topshop dress. I haven't tried it on yet though, I hope it fits because I tried on the Topshop version and it looked rubbish!

Devils Canyon

T-shirt & Belt - Primark | Necklace - Miss Selfridge | Jeans - Topshop

Please excuse the crap photos - I didn't realise how bad they were until I got them on the computer. I bought this t-shirt from Primark a couple of weeks ago from the mens section. I often gravitate towards the mens section in Primark as they have a massive selection of t-shirts and I much prefer the designs on mens t-shirts to womens. I usually wear them with the sleeves rolled up a bit and tucked in so I don't look like I'm obviously wearing mens clothes. I'll probably wear this t-shirt with denim shorts when it gets a bit warmer.

I'm off work next week - yay - so I'm going to visit a few friends in far off places (Leeds and Lincoln) which I'm dead excited about! It's really strange not having all my friends in one place anymore.

Pink Leopard Nails

Some very 'not me' nails here - I'm not into leopard print at all, especially if its pink. I saw this design online though and thought I'd give it a go. I was quite proud of this because I'm usually shocking at nail art, I didn't photograph my right hand because it looked nowhere near as good as this one. The pink polish is from Avon but the shade isn't online anymore and the black is a random nail art pen which I got for Christmas. I've seen the exact one I've got in Topshop and Accessorize though.

We're going to hibernate all year

Shorts - Matalan | Vest - H&M

Just a quick 'What I Wore' post - I'm off for a bit of a shopping trip today, it's my mums birthday and Mothers Day soon so I need to buy some presents.

I've had these shorts for ages but I hardly ever wear them because I find them so hard to style. I'm not really one for mixing prints so I usually just pair them with a plain top then jazz the outfit up with accessories. Looking at the photos though they're not exactly the most flattering things!

My Bedroom

If you're anything like me (a right nosey cow) you'll love a good look around other peoples houses. I know that I love reading these types of posts on other peoples blogs so here's one of my own. The below photos are a few shots of my favourite bits of my bedroom.
